Mutai the Girly Man

Jepkemoi could not bear it, looking at Mutai pet their aged cat. His fat hands moved delicately over the cat’s fur and the cat purred delightfully. It stretched its body over his lap before closing its eyes slowly. Disgust was slowly boiling within her; she looked away and recollected how she met Mutai. He had been much smaller when they met and she had been a big woman, just like she was now. Their wedding had been one o the most spectacular in the village. The brief kiss they had shared on the pulpit had made the bashful villagers chuckle as they ostensibly tried to cover their eyes.

Jepkemoi was a staunch Christian, Mutai had wanted to marry and settle down, so he went to church to look for a bride. He had always noticed her, dancing at the front pews. She was always so energetic at it, her kitenge dress flared out  as she jumped around and shouted for Jesus. The sheer mass of her body made those around her slide away from her perimeter, and she went on dancing without a care in the world.

A friendship had developed between them and he noticed how coyly she smiled at him when they conversed. He did not mind it when she touched the button at the front of his shirt almost sensually. One thing led to another and they could finally confirm that they liked each other. They married some months later.

Yesterday night, the atmosphere had been wonderful. Jepkemoi’s nipples hardened at the thought of intimacy. Her privates seemed to gain a life of their own, she rubbed her fat legs together, hoping the fire would die down, but it only made things worse. Her undergarment was wet from the drip of her lady parts. She couldn’t bear it any longer, her hands found their way into the loose shorts Mutai had worn. She took his flaccid manhood into her hand.

“What are you doing?”He asked and quickly pushed her hand away”Im still tired from yesterday’s work. You don’t expect me to be spend more energy on this” he was getting angry at the way she desperately tried to hold him.

“I cant do it, another day in the future would be best” he turned his back to her and pushed the blanket further up his head. That was what he always said. Jepkemoi had gone back to sleep, a wouded woman.

She did not understand why he did not want her, how he could not be interested in her femininity anymore. He did not understand himself either. He liked Jepkemoi a lot, she was a pleasant person to be with. They had been intimate a little often in the past, but he did not feel the excitements he had expected to feel with intimacies. He received her dutifully, not passionately.

He left the cat on the stool he had been sitting on and walked away slowly. He had noticed how Jepkemoi seethed with anger and did not want to have a conversation with her. She observed his gait, how his hips swished left and right so easily and gracefully too. “It’s like I married a woman!” she muttered under her breath.

It was a bright morning, Mutai stealthily made his way out of the house. Jepkemoi was sleeping soundly in the woolen blankets. Amidst the darkness, Mutai picked the call from Omondi, “I’ll be waiting for you dear, “his voice was like cherries, it made Mutai tremble with ecstasy. He had been tired of keeping secrets of their entanglements, and now he was saying goodbye to his rocky past. Jepkemoi woke up later, discovered he had abandoned her, and cried her heart out. She finally accepted the” will of God”
