How the God of the Bible is Guilty of Child Abuse
Abraham is told by God to go to the region of Moriah, atop a mountain, to sacrifice his son. Being the loyal servant he is, Abraham takes his son to the mountain complete with firewood and a knife to cut his son up.I can only imagine the amount of terror that engulfed Isaac when his father raised the knife to slay him. This amounts to psychological abuse.
God tells a community of how cruelly their innocent babies would be killed in their presence. To be exact God says, "Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes, their houses will be looted and their wives violated. See, I will stir up against them the Medes...their bows will strike up the young men; they will have no mercy on infants, nor will they look with compassion on children (Isaiah 143:16-18).
He orders the Israelite army to go attack the village of the Amalekites and to destroy everything they find there. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.
Instead of punishing David directly for the mistakes he did, god kills David's baby. The baby had nothing to do with anything bad that David did, but for some strange reason, God sees it fit to kill David's innocent baby.2nd Samuel 12:13-18.
Elisha the bald headed prophet gets some mockery from a group of young boys. He puts a curse on them using the name of god who sends an angry bear to the kids. The bear tears up the boys killing all forty two of them. Isn't this just outrageous?
In Numbers 31:17-18, the war mongering god sends soldiers to attack a village. The soldiers are to kill every boy (child killing), but save for yourself every girl who has never slept with a man (Child sex abuse).
