Are Some People More Important than Others? It is Good to Find Out

Are some lives of more value than others? the bible gives messages of hope, redemption, freedom and even prosperity to everyone. Every Christian holds this message close to his heart and believes these messages are meant for him, that they are meant to shine before other people, that they are supposed to live a blessed life just like Abraham. Many people credit their success to God, even the smallest wins such as finding lot keys.I know it is gratifying, I had been like that before, thanking God that I was alive yet many people die. But looking around and seeing torn people in the streets, tired and hungry, does it make sense that God would bless you and ignore them? to think that you are more special than others is selfish.

The same bible says others are of less value than others. He manipulates the heart of Pharaoh, makes it hard so that he does not let the children of Israel go, as a result of this, God kills the first born sons of Egypt to prove his might. It may be that some of these first born sons were grown up and could have had a hand in persecuting the Israelites, but what about babies who did not know yet that they were Egyptians? What was their purpose on earth? was it to breath for a few months and die so that God could prove his power? Why did he not kill Pharaoh, the main perpetrator of the persecution of the Israelites instead of the innocent children?

It is clear that the message from the book of Jeremiah 29; 11 "For I know the plans I have for you, plan to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future", was not for the first born children of Egypt nor is it for everybody. Many Christians would say that this happened to teach us something, but would you be happy to learn that your purpose here on earth was to undergo pain or tragedy to teach others something?
