Rich Babies, The Work of God?

You are a Christian, you attend church passionately, you are an aggressive prayer, your pastor has the anointing. Your pastor is the most powerful in the region, in fact he owns more than 3 flashy cars, he is always adorned in the latest suits, his hair is combed so elegantly and his walk is more than princely. The ushers adore him, they dust his seat before he arrives, they lay out his bible on the table and rush to pick his handkerchief when it drops. Yes, God has blessed him that much, that's what you say. His voice is captivating, dramatic, godly, so filled with  the holy spirit. You are keen to capture his every word, His words would be the key to your financial abundance, they are the words of God, so you think.

In order for you attain financial abundance, there are things you must do. You must be a committed tither, do not mess with God's money, do not be like Ananias and Saphira who could not give God what belonged to him and thus faced God's wrath squarely. Be a cheerful giver. The motto is "Give tearfully, receive cheerfully". You must pray harder and enthusiastically, pray till your lips cant move no more, pray till sweat and tears trickle down your face. The kneeling position is better, it shows how humble you are. You must also go for some days without food, to invite God closer to you (though he is omnipresent). All these things you must do so that finally God can release the money.

Meanwhile, the babies of famous and rich people are being born. Glamorous lives await these babies. These little humans dont have to kneel for hours to supplicate to deities, they are born with silver spoons in their mouths, they are born blue blooded. Their births will be ceremonies marked in history, these kids will not know lack, they will not understand poverty. These kids will live better lives than your pastor.

Royal kids, like Obama's daughters dont have to practice speaking in tongues so that God can bless them with money. Pretty and famous little girls like Beyonce's Blue Ivy do not have to plead for mercy and wealth from a god. Admirable teenage Boys like Will Smith's Jaden Smith dont have to tithe to appear in the list of the richest kids in the world. Niki Minaj's baby will enjoy his/her life when he/she is born.

I think its time you took a pause and ask yourself why you, a full grown adult, have to pray ceaselessly for the same god to give you the money. It's time you saw that this has nothing to do with a god, it's mere luck and circumstance.

   Atheists have been long been misunderstood as bitter people. People who went through bitter experiences and are now channeling their anger to "God". We have been told about our mental health being in a poor state. We have been called lost and misguided.   Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is one of the most prominent miracle preachers in Nigeria, it goes without saying that a big number of Nigerians believe that he possesses divine abilities going by the numbers that throng his churches.
